Nepali School MoMo Competition - Today (December 11) CNCA Nepali School is organizing MoMo competition in which, students will cook momo and write about the recipe and cooking procedure of one of the most popular Nepali dish. Details here.
Losar and English New Year 2012 Celebration - CNCA is organizing "Unity in Diversity" event on English New Year, January 1, 2012. Details here.

Some of the latest happenings in Calgary
1. The essay contest deadline has extended to August 4 (please refer this post).
2. Regional Nepalese Sports is being organized and hosted by Calgary, on August 6 and 7 2011. Further details on the event will be posted in http://uofcnepali.com (when it is made available by the organizers).
3. CNCA is organizing Satya Narayan Puja on the day before Krishna Astami, on August 20, 2011, Saturday.
Past events
4. Congratulation to Abhinay Pradhan and Ruby Pradhan for their marriage. We wish Abhinay and ruby a happy married life.
5. CNCA organized a Summer Camp in Sandy McNabb Campground from July 15, 2011 to July 17, 2011.
6. CNCA and NCSC organized a historical joint picnic on July 10, 2011 in Bowness Park, NW.

The Essay contest is back again. Our Calgary children have a history of winning first prizes in these contests. Please encourage your children to write and win the contest.

1. High School students - (Celebrating Nepal in your life: Maintaining Nepali Identity)
2. Middle School students (Life in North America: Things that remind me of Nepal)
3. Elementary school students (Show and Tell: “Nepal for Vacation”)
Timeline
Essay submission deadline – July 25, 2011. (Monday Next week)
Winners will be notified by – Aug 13, 2011.
Recognition of Winners – September 4th, 2011 (during cultural program of NASeA/ANMA annual joint convention).
The top three writings will also be published in NASeA’s upcoming Yeti View Point magazine. The winners will be honored during NASeA/ANMA joint convention in Labor Day Weekend, 2011 in Atlanta, GA, USA.
